Around October 1, 2007 I had the marvellous idea to become a coach in personal development. After a 25-year career as executive secretary my time had come to start a new career. And where then do you start? Exactly, you Google the education for coach. All results regarding the conventional courses were crossed off my list immediately, because if you want to distinguish yourself, then that’s is not the way to go. That is how I came across NLP and after I had gained more knowledge via Internet, I went looking for a NLP teacher. Again many were crossed off my list because of their aggressive and ignorant approach. There were two left, one who gave a free workshop. OK, so I went and was immediately attacked by an assistant that was on top of me all evening. It got even worse when the teacher entered, brrrr, it seemed as if he was trained by the Mossad (Israel) and he was supposed to teach me something? No way. I then registered on Joost’s site for the intake for the practitioner course. After ringing the bell, Joost opened the door and he came across as a very relaxed guy (sorry, man). Still I tried to see if I could provoke him by sitting in his chair, but he solved that in a good way and the meeting was open and humorous. Now, that appealed to me, and Joost’s unconventionality is amazing!
Today was the last day of the Practitioner course and it was nicely concluded with an official certificate. Many educational institutes could take Tiouw (is Joost) as an example considering that I have learned an awful lot in such a short time especially as far as daily practice is concerned. It is a no nonsense education without ridiculous theories that you have to learn by heart. Naturally, I was sceptical about some techniques, but once I used them I was convinced: it works!
This critical and analytical woman can recommend everybody wanting to learn NLP to take the course from Joost, also because of the fact that he regularly brushes his knowledge up with Richard Bandler himself, so that he is up to date with the latest knowledge in the field. Go for it!

After following the Practitioner course with Joost the next logical step for me was to follow his Master Practitioner course also. During his course you are allowed to invent your own techniques. Secretly, I was already doing that, but now it was permitted. It is a course that requires a lot of creativity: from painting art to voice techniques and more. Especially the way you describe how your wildest dream looks like in 30 years and how it is displayed in trance with sound and everything made a deep impression on me. If this website still exists in 30 years, I will drop by to see if the dream has come true!
Naturally I laughed a lot too, so that in this very relaxing manner I again learned a lot. For those in doubt (who do not master the techniques of making good choices) I would like to say that Joost’s Master Practitioner course is a good choice that you will be able to use in daily life in various ways.
Joost, until the next time!
